Funny you mention this, I just did the surround on my jl 12 a couple weeks ago. It's really easy, and instructions are included. Basically clean the old material off and glue the new to the cone, let it dry, then apply adhesive to the outside, run the supplied audio disc to center the sub and glue the outside down.

It's a very tricky process. Your gonna be pretty much re-coning your woofer. What you'll wanna do is use a heat gun to heat the glue that holds the rubber on to loosen it up. Be careful not to get things too hot and you'll want to slowly pull off the old one. Once the old one is off I would take a chisel or razor blade and scrape the basket to make sure it's clean. And then glue the new rubber on there. Sounds easy but will be a little hard.

What kind of glue? I'm not sure if the surrounds I will be buying off eBay is a kit. I thinks it's just the surround. Can someone give me a link to a kit?

The kit I got was from The seller looneytune2001. They Come as a kit, with glue and all instructions you need. I took a quick look and didn't see a kit on their estore. You may be able to contact them to see if they have something to use, or even cross over for your sub.

I just meant since they didn't have a listing for a mmats sub, maybe they could use another surround. Nothing to do with an actual cross over.

Check with the Speaker Exchange (I think) I bought a kit from them to do an Infinity home speaker. Not hard to do. I believe you want contact cement.
