I guess you could say I'm new here, but I've been following the conversations for quite a while, as I began planning this project.

I picked up this mostly-factory 2002 Tahoe LS for next-to-nothing back in October, with plans for it to be a daily driver AND a much-needed outlet/project. It won't be anything too extreme when I'm done, but I can't just leave it alone and blend in with the local soccer moms.

So far, I've taken care of a few mechanical needs, like leaky gaskets, a MAF sensor cleaning, new belts, new rear-hatch supports, new water pump, and tinted all the glass. I also de-badged it and removed the moldings.

I've got a new Escalade dash cluster coming in this week and just ordered a black Z71 air deflector and round fogs. Then tonight I placed a big suspension order, consisting of:
  • DJM Front 3" Drop Arms
  • DJM Upper Control Arms
  • Front & Rear Belltech SP Shocks
  • Front & Rear DJM Swaybars
  • DJM Rear Hardware Kit
  • Short Bumpstops
  • TB Rear Springs
  • Spohn Rear Bar Kit
  • Rear Helper Bags
This hoe's got a lot of miles on it, so it needed some suspension attention anyway. I figured why not do it up right?

Next step will be new shoes. I'm still undecided between 20s & 22s, but I'll be deciding on that & ordering in the next few days. Any input you all have on that, feel free to post up here.

As you can see, I've got a lot of work ahead of me over the next few weeks. Can't wait to dig into it!

Later plans include some minor TLC for the body, a new grille, completely new/rehabbed interior adding leather, and who knows what else. I look forward to posting pics & such as I go along.

Thanks! It's pretty clean. Got a few bumps & bruises, but it's mechanically sound so I can focus on the fun, shiny stuff for now. I'll get into performance mods later, I'm sure.

Anyone have recommendations on the wheel/tires size? I'd prefer wide with a decent sidewall and little to no rubbing. Thoughts?
