I'd look for a 300 watt RMS mono amp. Shouldn't be hard to find.

Yeah. The 10W1's recommended power range is 75-300 watts, so a 250 watt amp will be just fine, especially a high quality one like JL.

The 300/1 is a perfect match for that sub, but you don't have a guarantee that it works properly. I would see if he'll knock a couple bucks off for a "package deal" or at least offer him less if his price says OBO.

Either way, $200 for the Stealthbox is a steal, so make sure you don't let that slip through your fingers.

bought the stalth box yesterday! he wants 20 firm for the amp and it was what he had paired with the sub in a Yukon. question is that amp worth 40% more? I don't NEED it to pound just want something more than the bose. thanks for all the help!

I am a proponent of buying more amp than you need instead of saving a couple bucks and buying the amp that you'll max out immediately.

Buying a larger amp and running it at a lower gain setting will allow the amp run cooler and extend its lifespan. Plus, if you decide you want a little more bass later on down the road, you can simply turn a knob and you'll have more bass for free.

However, if you know for sure you just want a small upgrade over the Bose and you're not going to get the "bass bug" and want more later, the 250/1 will do just fine.
