SCC Z6 SZ451 tire cables?

Hi, In California, even with 4WD, under certain conditions the Highway Patrol requires carrying chains, and in R3 conditions mandates their use. I have ordered SCC's SZ451 cables, which are supposed to be for vehicles with very tight clearances, such as my 2004 Yukon. Anyone have any experience or problems with these cables? I'm going to Lake Tahoe in December,and I'm hoping that I'll only have to carry them, but just in case I am required to put them on ... I know the manual says do not use chains, but these are cables.
