pulled into a parking spot too fast...

i knew. she knew. the question hung there, suspended between us: how bad?

put 'Hoe in reverse, eased off brake. heard scrape as under-cowl (air dam?) came over top of parking curb. hard swallow, sweat forming on bald spot.

jammed it in park, got out, dizzy, nauseous. licking lips nervously i crouched down.

waves of semi-relief mixed w/ disgust: not cowl, nothing hanging, no structural damage but several gouges on lower bumper under license plate. white plastic streaks showing through black gloss: even thinking about it now makes me want to puke.

can someone recommend a body paint that would do a good cover-up job and save me (i'm guessing) ~$1K?

thanks in advance.

If it is just a paint issue, you are looking at about $400-$500 to get it completely repainted at a good shop. Can't tell you where to go because I don't know where you live. Just look around locally for body shops with good reviews (use Yahoo or Google).
If the gouges are too deep, you are looking at about $350 or more on top of the paint price to get a new bumper also.

Thanks for replying but that's my point: I don't want to dish out the big bucks. I wasn't to buy paint and touch it up myself

dude are you a writer of some sort?
If its just paint as mentioned by modded 3-400 would be my guess, thats not that expensive if you think about it. or you could always take it to Maaco and have them put on some cheap paint that will fall off in 6 months. I hear there having a special going on right now.

Sand it smooth and do as much prep yourself and getting this fixed may only cost you $200-250... Remove the bumper yourself prep it ... have it painted and reinstall it yourself... This is the most inexpensive route I think... And it will be done right and don't go to Maaco... find someone else who has a good reputation
