If you are getting those sa's on the sheet that comes with them, it says something about bandpass being best.

If you want tight accurate bass get sealed.
If you want boom and loudness get ported.
I'm not gonna mention bandpass because the box will have to be huge for those SA subs and it will cost at least $400.

I completely agree that sealed enclosures produce more accurate bass, but in regards to ported, do you think 10 inch ported subs are any more accurate than 12 inch? or 12 inch ported more accurate than 15 inch? Also the tuned frequency plays a role, I think tuning to lower frequencies will improve the accuracy, but take away from the boom and loudness. This is just my opinion and I'd love to hear yours. Im in the process of designing a two 10 inch ported setup myself and I want every opinion I can get my hands on.

I agree with modded. Sealed for sq. Ported for spl. My box builder said 4th order bandpass boxes are for one genre of music so its not practical if you listen to a wide range of music at different frequencies. Don't quote me on this, just what I've been told. The guy I bought my sub from is a world champion in bass boxing contest and he uses 16 twelves in a bandpass. I think for the application you are going for, ported is the way to go. I'm assuming you are using it as a daily driver and want loud ground pounding bass ) BTW, what gear did you decide on? I think you said you decided on sundown SA.

Yeah, his name is Pipo Sanchez. Check him out on Youtube. He has one video from a contest where the smashes his windshield. He said he went through 6 windshields in a few months. He gives this one guy a demo and drives around town with a broken windshield lol. In FL it's supposed to be free to replace your windshield if you have insurance. Maybe his insurance company got tired of paying for his windshields, or maybe he doesn't have insurance on it since it's just a competition vehicle.
