I'm looking at a used Yukon and was wondering about 2nd row cpt chairs. Do you prefer captain or bench? Why or why not?

I had bench seats for years they are convenient in the sense that 3 can just jump in real fast, now I have captains chairs more room and easy to get in back quick but loose a seat.

I have had both and they both have their pros and cons. Started with buckets, switched to benches and now on our 4th rig, we are back to buckets. As @Doubeleive mentioned, the buckets make it easier to get in and out of the 3rd row, particularly if your passengers are bigger (older than 14). The bench is nice as you have 8 passenger capacity and for our family of 6, it was handy when we wanted Grandma and Grandpa to come along somewhere, we all fit. It all depends on what you are wanting to do with your rig. If you only need to seat 4 or so folks on regular basis and just want a comfortable ride, go with the buckets. If you are using it to maximize passenger capacity, go with the bench. One thing to consider is there are times where I needed extra luggage space in the rear and with a bench I could remove or fold-up one of the 3rd row seats and still have room for 6 people. I have since purchased a roof-top luggage carrier so that need has pretty much gone away.

Do the buckets fold forward?

Captain's chairs for us all along. Bench seat does not recline, making it uncomfortable for my children. We've had eight or more for short hops, extra kids usually, sit on the floor and or put four in the back.
