I have hastily bought a tire & wheel package directly after acquiring my 08 LTZ Tahoe. the tires are 315/35 ZR 24 Continental which are great on road & give excellent stability but the extra width means that they rub the front mud flaps & wells.

I have went through the threads in this section but still need some help on determining if i can install a CCM or Daystar 2" and get good leveling without using spacers for the rear & without getting the Cali lean.

Have anyone measured the actual lift if it was exactly 2" as advertised?

Thanks for the assistance.

yeah more than likely you will have a cali lean. when i measured before my install the rear was about 1.5" taller and now i have ccm 2.5f/1r and the front is now less than .25" lower. That being said you would be about .25 higher in the front if you went with a 2". But i also have the Z71 and the front/rear ratio may be different than an LTZ, because to me they seem to sit a little bit more level stock.

So UofM, do you think that it is a good idea if i go with a 1.5" spacer?

Has anyone with an LTZ tried this and was successful?

FYI, my experience is exactly the same as UofMs.

Theoretically, your wheel/tire combo is 32.68" in diameter. I have 285/65/18s (32.58") with 2.5"F and 1"R CCM kit and still had to trim. However, the front facia & wheel wheel is different than non-Z71s; and you are running different rims (offset and backspacing?).

To confirm, you can lift the front 1.5" (or more) and put on jack stands to see how much clearance you have at full lock. Do not forget to check clearance with suspension components because my setup can rub the front sway bars... IMO that large wheel diameter might look funny with a level kit. Post some pics!

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I have a slightly difference experience than Zed and UofM....maybe that's due to my Tahoe being an LT and theirs are Z71s....I dunno....

I installed the CCM 2.5"f/1"r kit and it did exactly as advertised...it raised the front fenders up from 35-1/2" off the ground to 38". The rear went from 38-1/4" to 39-1/4". There is still over an inch of rake after the leveling kit, but it's not as bad as the nearly 3" of rake it had from the factory.

I have 285/70-17 (32.7" diameter) Goodyear Duratracs on OEM wheels and didn't have to trim at all and I have no rubbing on the wheel well liners. I do get a very slight amount of rubbing on the sway bar at full lock when the suspension is flexed....but its very minimal.

The diameter of your tires is not an issue. The issue is with the width of the tire and the backspacing of the wheel that you're running. Even with a leveling kit I bet you'll still have significant rubbage with the 315s....

Before I lifted, I had the Truxxx Leveling kit and it was perfectly level.
