Ready to make a 400 mile trip so i made sure all was well with my Denali before heading out. When I started her up I noticed the oil pressure gauge read zero (actually no movement at all). No noise from the engine..oil levels fine. No warning lights no CEL or anything indicating an issue with the truck/engine.

I'm thinking this is a gauge issue (possibly a stepper motor) but making a 400 mile trip on a engine without a way to "see" oil pressure makes me more than nervous.

I could buy a switch at the local parts store but from what i have seen this can be a real PITA as you need to remove the intake mani...(WOW) if its the gauge...well that would be something I could deal with later..

jplong,

I understand that you want to make sure that everything is working as designed to work before your road trip. I get a sense that you are pretty handy resolving the vehicle issues you are experiencing but if you find that this is too much for you to resolve on your own, I am happy to locate a dealership in your area. I can also make the appointment for you. Please let me know if I can assist you with this.

Safe travels,
