I'm having some AC issues that are thoroughly covered in another thread (99% sure I need to replace blower resistor for the front) on my 2003 Yukon. The air that does come out in the front is cold. The rear blows but the air doesn't get cold. My question is, are there two separate freon "tanks" for the front and the rear? Must be since the front gets cold (but doesn't blow harder than level 1) and the rear blows on all levels but doesn't get cold. I'm ordering the new resistor tomorrow and figured I'd do the freon too with this hot SC summer heating up. Now I just have to research how to do the freon for the front and rear. Thanks.

Your issue may be a faulty actuator for the rear a/c. Very common problem.
Thanks for the heads up. So in addition to the front blower motor resistor, now I've got to possibly replace the actuator for the rear! Guess when it rains it pours. Now I'm going to research the actuator issue since this is a new one to me.

I am having the same issue in the rear, dealer diagnosed a faulty actuator. Dealer quoted me 115 dollars for the actuator.

I have the part number for my '04, let me know if you need it.

blower motor resistor is only if your a/c in the front isn't working on 1,2,3, or 4 but only blows on level 5. if they all work, then it doesn't need replacement.

if your only a/c problem is the rear blowing hot, i'd check out that actuator thing.

the blower motor is the only thing i'm 100% sure about because i just replaced mine. also check out rockauto.com they've got good prices on parts once you figure out what you need

Well the problem with the front is it gets cold but it only works on 1. Like if I'm driving fast and have it on outside air instead of recirculating it blows harder. But at idle or slow speeds it barely blows. So you're saying that's not the resistor?

It is the resistor they can drop any speed and go out as it uses current to regulate the air flow. I have gone through 3 so far and always carry a spare. Shouldn't be more than $50 and 3 7mm bolts to drop the shroud (if memory serves).

That's what I figured. Preciate it. The resistor for the 03 Yukon was a pain in my ass to find. But I finally found what I hope will work. It doesn't look exactly like the factory resistor that's in now, but at least it has the right wire hookups. Thankfully I have some air in the back now (reset the actuators) so that will hold me over another week until I can order the front resistor.
