...keeps coming across the DIC. It's snowy up here in MN so I have it in Auto. When the message is displayed the light under the "Auto" dial flashes and the 2WD is lit steady. Bringing it to the dealership tomorrow. Anybody else had this issue? If so any resolution? I suppose it could be any number of things but owners manual has me worried with the "Take it to a dealership for immediate service" warning. :)

Similar issues and mine turned out to be a wheel hub sensor that was replaced under warranty. Good luck.

Luckily I bought it less than 30 days ago so the dealership (somewhat reluctantly) is having me bring it in tomorrow. I called the local GMC dealer to make sure it was a code and not just a suggestion like "Change Oil". :)

They confirmed it was a malfunction. Hopefully the place I bought it from can figure it out. I started doing some google searches and came across a TSB that requires a reprogram of something or other

"reprogramming the transfer case module with the new software that GM have available and it's fixed them all (have the dealer refer to TSB# XX-XX-XX-*** if they already hadn't for details) "

We'll see what comes of it. Hope it isn't anything too serious. I did buy a Vehicle One ext. warranty so I should be covered.

I was having the same issue, my code was "C0327 - Encoder Circuit" I have replaced the Encoder Module Sensor (part #: 88962315 for my transfer case, but I would be surprised if it's different). Since changing it out I've had no problems, been about a month now.

If you end up having to do this yourself, gmpartsdirect.com has the parts at a good price, don't forget the gasket for the encoder module, I don't have the part number for that handy though.

I was slipping a little bit when it happened so no idea what exactly happened, but it's fixed now

Thanks guys.

So I talked to the dealer I bought it from and had an appt for tomorrow. While I was at lunch he called back.

"Our 30 day warranty doesn't cover 4WD" how convenient.
"But, since you bought an extended service contract we need to wait til the 30 days are up then you can have it repaired under that" Of course, I'm now on the hook for a $100 deductible. Tried calling him back twice now and no answer.

On a side note, this was a "Motor Trend Certified" used car and the dealer on top of that gave me a 30 day warranty. Once I get a hold of this guy he's not gonna be happy. Funny thing was, when I dropped the truck off tomorrow my wife and I were going to look for a vehicle for her. Guess I'll go to the GMC dealer instead now and find something there.

SteveK - When you say It's fixed now... did it just turn off and start working again or did you have it repaired?

I am in 2WD now and restarted the truck several times and drove for close to 30 min and the warning never came on again. But it did come on twice on Saturday and again this morning leading me to believe it's a sensor or some wiring somewhere that is causing the issue.

This same thing happened to me a while back....On the way to the gas station it came on and stayed on had to make a few stops and it kept coming on. After I filled up the car it did it once and never came back on. I called the dealership and made an appointment but when I arrived they told me that unless it was currently on there was nothing they could do. They stated there was no way to tell what could have caused it due to the many sensors in the 4 wheels drive system...I dunno but they stated that anything that may arrise should be covered in the powertrain waranty. I also have an extended warranty for this reason.

I just remember the fix was less than $100.

The reason it didn't come on again for me was because I had it in 2WD. Once I tried to put it in 4WD Auto again it immediately came on and keeps the vehicle in 2WD mode. Grr

Yep, same thing happened to me. Hopefully it's nothing big. Good luck!
