Hello everyone
My service 4wd light came on in my 99 yukon a couple months ago out of nowhere. Haven't used my 4wd Since last winter, I changed the switch in the dash cause the lights went out a year or two ago thinking that was the problem. I can hear something making noise when I shift form 2 to 4wd but it doesn't shift and when I put it in 4lo it just blinks and goes back to the last selected range. Can anyone steer me in the right direction.

Front axle actuator?

I replaced one on my 1996. It was a slightly different setup though. I had a floor lever.

I think that's my next step but I read if you pull the fuse for the tccm and that will rest the tccm but there's a transfer case and a 4wd fuse. I don't know witch one to pull, and does the truck have to be running?

I guess I posted too quick. We pulled the t-case and all the clutches were good. It ended up being the encoder motor.
