Last night, I stopped and bought 100lbs of ice and loaded in the back of my wife’s 21 Escalade. When I started the car I got a message on the dash saying “service leveling system.”

Do any of you have experience with this message and know what the potential scope of the issue is?

I’d be tempted to disconnect the battery for an hour and reconnect. See if the system resets.

I have not experienced that message, but it sound like it's a vehicle height to bag position mismatch. Did you happen to have the gate open for an extended period of time without the key present when loading the ice? Just wondering if the system was offline or something and wasn't able to counteract the added weight.

What vehicle mode are you running in and do you have the ride height set to lower when parked?

Good questions.

1) I can't seem to find anything in the manual about this particular error message.
2) The car was running when the liftgate was opened and the ice was loaded. It was in normal height mode and in park. We've been using the tour mode.

I called the dealership and have an appointment to bring it in next Monday. They were worried they would need a little more time to look at this and didn't want us to be without it over Christmas. They suspect either the front compressor is running constantly or not at all. I suspect the latter to the former. Ride seems to be the same as always and I don't hear any odd sounds of any kind.

I’m having the same error message displayed on my 2021 Denali , used the adjustment knob once on the second day I got it and have had the error message ever since. Vehicle is stuck on the lowest setting and ride height will not activate if you try to use. Have appointment with Dealer but still almost 2 weeks away.

It saddens me to hear that you’ve got reasonably serious problems with a brand new 80+ K vehicle, and as soon as they can get you in is a few weeks. They should take it now and give you a brand new loaner and try to work it in......

Update: Drpped the vehicle off at the dealership today. Interestingly, the service leveling system message didn't throw a code when they plugged in, so they'll have to do some digging. Also fixing the two recalls that showed up while it is in the shop.

The saga continues. They’re getting a front differential code with the service leveling system message. Not sure what the differential has to do with the compressors, but what the hell do I know. They did some kind of system reset that GM recommended today to try and clear the code and it put the vehicle in Logic Lock. I can break things worse than they are myself. Didn’t need a dealership to help with that.

TL,DR: Issue remains. Dealership confused. Tried something. Didn’t work. Now worse off than we were when it went it.
