Hey fellas I have a question on service. I have a 2wd 07 Tahoe with 5.3 with 96,000 on the clock and am due for a tranny service at 100k. What are your thoughts should I do the complete flush and filter or just drain and replace filter? This will be the first service on the tranny. I have never towed anything with it just commute alot via highway not alot of city stop and go. This is why i never changed it at 50k. Also what about the rearend fluid what kind and how many qts does it typically take. Dealer quoted me 185.00 for just the rearend fluid change. He said it takes 3 qts at 30 bucks a qt. Thoought that was a bit much.

I am no expert, but I have heard bad things about having them flushed. I would just do the drain and fill and a filter. Make sure you use the OEM fluid, I think it is called Dex 6 or something like that. And that price is a bit much, I would go to another shop.

Drain, fill and drain again if the color is off, and change filter.

IMO even though you mostly did highway runs, I would have still changed the tranny fluid at 50k. I am over cautious with the 4-speed...
