the "Service ride control" light is on in my '01 Denali.. we replaced the shocks a while back and got a new compressor. The compressor functions well, and I don't think anything is leaking because we towed our boat and when we released the trailer the back of the truck was lifted up high.. any thoughts??

What shocks did you go with? There's a magnetic damping component to OEM shocks, front and rear, that require spoofers or resistors to be wired in to the wires or wire connectors that were attached to the OEM shocks if you go with an aftermarket. Most use a 3.9 ohm 50 watt wire wound resistor. You can find kits on EBay.

Some aftermarket shocks , like Arnott's, have the resistors (spoofers )built in to the top of the shock and there's a plug for the OEM wiring. Some don't and those are the ones where you just cut the OEM wiring connector off and wire the resistor between the 2 wires. Doesn't matter which direction the resistor goes, just attach a wire to each end.
