Is there any other reasons I could get the Service TPMS other than bad TPMS sensors? I started getting the message about a month ago randomly, and when I took it into the tire shop who put my new tires, and new TPMS sensors on (late Feb/early March of this year) they said they where all talking fine (I witnessed him check them with the scan tool they use). Fast forward to last week when I rotated my tires myself, and had a successful relearn via the manual relearn procedure outligned in the manual it has started coming up every time I drive, but not always as soon as I start it like t will when you don't have any sensors at all, and even pops back up after I've cleared the message off the DIC. Even when I was running some aftermarket wheel with no sensors did it ever come back after the initial clearing. So I'm wandering if the module is going bad (which I figure is built into the BCM), or maybe the receiver. It really just acts like sometimes they talk just fine, and then it'll loose communication, and give me the error message. Any suggestions?

I am also having this issue. Firestone says it is likely some box hidden in the dash instead of the tire sensors. Local dealership says if one goes bad then expect others to also go bad soon. I personally don't need the sensors. I can look at my tires and tell if they are low...and I do.

I need new TPMS at $40 a pop...... I wish there was a way for me to just disable the warning on the dash.

Subscribing....my 04 Tahoe kicks out the "Service Tire Monitor" message, but only when I'm on a long highway drive. Driving around town, it never brings up the message.

If you have a low pressure sensor and it goes higher that 38lbs it will kick out that message. A regular sensor will kick out that message at about 52lbs of air.

same thing has been happening on my 06 Yukon for the past five years. Only after driving 400 miles or so. And, it's always the same sensor that fowls up and triggers the "service tire monitoring system"

Maybe I don't know my Tahoe that well. Does it indicate which specific tire when Service Tire Monitor comes up on the display?

Yes, when you go to tire pressures on the DIC, then hit the arrow button, it will show the pressures for the three tires, then the same one will show two horizontal lines, indicating no pressure. This only happens after "service tire monitoring system" pops up. Again, if the message is not displayed, then all pressures are shown. My guess, is that that one sensor is slowly dying.
