shaking at high speeds

tahoe shake after 70mph,had tires balanced and rebalanced so that cant be it.Any ideas?

No rrecent work to drive shaft.Drjay by offset do you mean the guy who balanced it may have miss balanced it?I notice when I leave in the morning my steering wheel shakes like crazy for like 2 miles and then smooths itself out.

Could also be a bent rear axle. I had that problem on a Camaro I owned about 20 years ago. Had some shaking at higher speeds and found it one day by jacking up the rear end and putting it in drive. Didn't have to run it at high speed (you should run an unloaded drivetrain at high speed anyway), but at about 40mph where I stopped it I could see one of the rear tires wobbling a little bit.

I ended up replacing the axles and problem went away.

The other shaking you mention sounds like flat spotted tires. I have this issue on my Corvette since I drive it so infrequently. You feel it in the steering wheel for a few miles until the tires warm up and the flat spot disappears.

Just have the stock 16's that came with the truck.Wake,looks like ill have to look into the axle,sucks having to go 65 on the thruway.
