To those of you who are running a shock mount relocation bracket I have a question for you. Currently I'm running a McGaughy's 2" rear drop and using shock mount relocation brackets and running a stock size shock. Recently those brackets have started pivoting at the point where they are mounted to the stock shock mount location and clanking against the stock shock mount as we drive over bumps and it's really annoying. I've attempted tightening these up again but they won't go any tighter to solve the issue. :Boo:

Has anyone else experienced this problem? One solution is to buy shorter shocks that'd go into the stock mount location but the shocks that I have I just bought from Tony last Fall and have very few miles on them to so I'd really like to avoid that if I can :)

its your shock extender bracket.

Do me a favor at ride height measure the shock from eye/eye you have on right now let me see if I can work something up for you.

Will do Tony. I will have to get that measurement for you after work tonight so I should have the measurement for you this evening. Thanks :waytogo:

Do they not have the extra bolt that goes in to the bottom like the Belltechs?

See the single nut coming from the top?

Yes they do but the instructions with the kit I had stated it was for 00-06 rides  This has me intrigued, though. I may have to take a second look at this tonight when I get home :hmm:

The design of my brackets are quite a bit different from those, though  Let me see if I can't find an image somewhere and post them up.

EDIT: here's a pic of the exact kit I had before install. See how those brackets are shaped different than your BT's are

hmmm.... I've had 3 sets on 3 different SUVs, don't remember if they were all belltech but they all had a hole in the bottom for a nut to keep them flat...

EDIT:

It looks like you should have them.

I have extenders that look like that on my truck and there should be a bolt and spacer running through the middle to keep it from pivoting. My guess is the bolt fell out at some point. The exact same thing happened to me where I lost the bolt and spacer and it started pivoting and making a clanking noise over bumps.

Forgive the quality, but this will hopefully show the bolt I'm talking about:

^^^this may be exactly what I needed to see (and look just like my brakcets). Is that bolt going through a pre-existing hole? I may just need to get a bolt and some washers :hmm:

There is a pre-existing hole the bolt runs though. Hope that helps bud.

We shall see. I'll be checking this out tonight. If so, that'll be an easy enough fix. I'd forgotten all about that hole in the bracket. I just hope there one in the stock bracket too so that I don't have to mess with drilling my own hole

Thanks for the help :Handshake: I will update this with what I find out.
