Just a real quick general ? about shocks on a factory 2007 GMC yukon. I am over in afghanistan for the time being and my g/f back home is driving my yukon while her car is in the shop. I asked her to please change the oil at my usual place where they know my vehicle and know me personally. After the oil and check up they told her everything looks alright but that I needed new shocks. I have close to 70,000 give or take a little on the factory shocks... is this typical or should I give them a little more time. I would typically consult the manual but since im away I cant and if I should replace them does anyone have any suggestions on which shocks to buy or where to get them. Like i said everyting is factory no lift/drop just liked the way it rides that is one main reason i bought the vehicle and i do typically maintain them very well but thought i woudl get a second opinion because they are wanting quite a bit for new shocks and labor which im sure i can do myself when i get back home. Thank you guys for any input!

Its typical for just about any car with factory shocks to need shock replacement at 50,000 miles, so at 70k you will really see a gain in handling and comfort from a swap.

Ok sounds like a plan to me... does anyone have any suggestions on shocks? I know the autozone up the street has some listed online but they are edelbrock and kinda expensive. I have a buddy taht works for brown pontiac and gmc i could ask him to put some factory shocks back on it to keep it the same ... just looking for some insight from those taht know more than me about these vehicles

Bilstein HD shocks are way better than factory.
