Shootin black smoke!?

well have an issue when i get on it or rev it up i shoot black smoke out. now if i had the 6.5 diesel i wouldnt be worried and would be happy.. since i have the 5.7 it worries me. Now i just replaced the wires and the plugs. The plugs i took out looked horrible, completely black and rusty, dont think they had been changed in a very long time. One of them had a lil what looked like oil on it. but not sure since there was a grease used on them before. Well replaced them with new ones. cranked up and still black smoke and a lil more this time. When i shut it off its still had steady smoke just coming out for a few seconds. (red lined her just before shuttin her off)

I cant think of what it could be. been a while since i worked on a vehicle so my knowledge is a lil rusty

can you get the fuel pressure tested. you may have a failed or leaking pressure regulator. Our perhaps you ignition coil just got really weak.

Ill do that tomorrow.. makes sense since i have a Jerk or loss of fuel feeling . like i lose pressure when i drive. just holding idle i can hear it spitting. but driving i get a jerk feel so if doing that helps both problems ill be happy ha.

I was playing with MSD stuff today and I started up my truck with the Intake Air Temp and MAF sensors unplugged to do testing.

My truck was shooting black stuff out like an 80's big rig going up a hill.
My Check Engine light came on immediatly.

Moral of my story, is your truck throwing any codes? Could be just a bad/loose sensor?

Got the codes ccheck. was throwing out 12 codes. guess my light it out on the check engine. but they were mostly repeating eachother.. bank1 sensor 1 02 .. cam shaft postioning sensor and MAF sensor.. change the 02 and took the maf off and cleaned it .. it was super durty. hopefully that will fix it . havent got to the cam sensor yet since its in the distributor and the back of the motor. also went a head and changed the fuel pressure regulator but havbe not had time to test it yet.

while im doing this thinkin about changeing the front suspension to a solid axle

Haha yeah I'm def fixin the motor first but why I got it in maintenance mode and no driving it night as well right.
