wanted to see how u guys feel about a shorter wheelbase vs longer wheelbase for off-roading? example 2dr vs suburban.

I guess it depends on what type of offroading you do. As for my wife and I, we do alot of mudding. Not so much driving straight through a mud puddle, but more along the lines of in the woods. We do hill-climbing, quite a bit of crossing over moguls, and trail riding. On the trails, we do find areas with "hills" that are 3 or 4 feet tall. That being said, when the front of your truck passes over the top of said hills, the center of the truck will "slide" over the hill until the rear wheels reach the hill.

In a long wheelbase truck, you would be more prone to getting stuck on the center of the truck (known as "high centered") and rocking back and forth. In the shorter wheelbase truck, this would be less of an issue.

Also, when in the woods, a shorter wheelbase truck will be easier to turn in very tight areas.
