From experience, just save up for some damn COATED pace setter long tubes and have the exhaust work done. I should have... I really regret it. I really regret it. I really regret it.

Infact I'd say by late July I'll have my 6 month old Head man Shorty headers up for sale, I'm tired of going through gaskets and tightening bolts. I don't want to spend any more on these stupid headers, what a bad investment. I don't want to buy the fancy gaskets and I don't want to buy the locking bolts with such a ****** investment. I'm gonna buy the long tubes in July and do it right. Why the hell don't they give you the nice gaskets and the locking bolts? **** headmen headers, what a ****** product. I should have listened to the people that told me not to do that.

Also the paint literally burned off my headers as soon as I turned the engine on, real sweet smell for awhile and a very funny noise of the paint cracking and burning ha.

thanks for the info destroyer! how much of a difference did you notice from the manifolds to the headers? and for future reference, maybe try to scuff the paint on the headers before spraying more stuff on... it helps with adhesion. just an idea though...

I noticed the biggest power gain between 1500 and 3000 rpm. It's similar to the rush of power you get when the v-tech kicks in, in a honda. And getting on the highway, you'll get to 70 a lot quicker. But about the coating, I scuffed washed and rinsed them. I should have hit them with b-12 and then heated them before applying the coating. Weird thing is the paint is still on the flange, it just burnt off the tubes.

yeah let me know what he did! Also where he got his coating and how much it was if you could. I got the headers, they were PACE SETTERS and not 'summit' brand so i was even happier about that. And i looked at them... it even has a sticker saying that the paint on them is not high heat paint which is helpful. I also wonder if i strip them first would high heat paint hold up better than spraying it directly over the normal gloss black paint.

I just purchased a set of Edelbrock shorties for my 96'. Haven't put them on yet, but from a friend of mine that rebuilds/restorations he said they should do well for a simple upgrade. His steered me towards Edelbrock or JBA, then coated so it was Edelbrock. They weren't cheap, but he claims they should bolt right up and i am good to go. Increased exhaust note, little better power and shiney looking.

It a tough trigger to pull IMO' there are so many products out there and your stuck a lot of times just relying on the prod specs. Though I did have some help personally, I'm envious for some of you that have a lot of resources at your fingertips.

I don't have anything to back this up but I would say they will not fit. The reason is because 95s are tbi and I know 97 and up have vortec heads and sfi. I know some one else will chime in on this but thats my 2 cents.
