My sister and brother both have navigation units and its pretty handy, so I'm thinking about getting one. I think they both have Tomtoms, should I go for that or do you have any suggestions?

Don't buy a magellan. I had one and the first time I used it, it took me 1.5 hours for a trip that normally takes 45 min tops. I knew how to get where I was going but the GPS wanted to go a different route which confused me but I figured maybe it knew something that I didn't. Ended up taking me probably the longest route possible. Actually my stock nav works pretty good. I'm getting a Kenwood which has garmin so we'll see how that works out.

I would go with garmin. Me, my mom, and my sister all have one and haven't had a problem yet.

I bought a TomTom and love it. Just make sure you get the one with the free updates that are included with purchase.
