Just getting a general consensis from the forum. Just my Luck 2 trucks of interest came in for trade. One being a 2010 Hoe in gold LTZ and the other 08 Esky Esv with the 18 wheels. Today when i went grocery shopping with 4 adults and 2 kids with the 3rd row in use, There wasnt much room for gorceries in the rear. Had to put some between the kids and some with the wife up front. Now i know i wont benefit much from the Ltz as i got most of the options i want from a Ltz in my truck. Then theres the Esv. Room to spare, can transfer my stuff over to the Esky. Go from FBI black to Presedential white. We talked about a 3rd child but woud it really be worth changing over for little change? What ya guys think?

You don't need to pack or plan with the big one just throw crap in the back. With the tahoe you have to get creative at times. There really isn't much room behind the third row.
I have thought about a suburban or xL for awhile but those extra few hundred lbs seems to tax the 5.3l, which is obviously not a problem with the 6.2l.
I will say the proportions on the burb, xL are much better than the tahoe, Yukon with the 116" wheelbase.

Active Fuel Management, Yenno the feature that only works down hill or when foot off the gas when coming to a stop, putting it into 4cyl for a few seconds

Oh I see ... didn't the 08s also have a different transmission or was that only in the Tahoes?

Anyhoot, given your practical considerations, I don't see much point in getting another Tahoe when yours is as sick as it is already, so my take is burb/xl/esv depending on your taste and budget.

If I was in your shoes I'd be interested in the ESV mostly for the extra room. As you found out the extra room does come in handy especially when you have a car full of people and need room for groceries, luggage or whatever.
