Posted yesterday in the "What exhaust are you running?" thread but it got removed for some reason? Anyways was wondering if anyone is running a side exit exhaust.
Have an 04 Tahoe and the stock exhaust is rusting out, but the section bending over the rear axle to the tip is in good shape. It sounds kinda wimpy as is anyways, so I was thinking about cutting the tailpipe off and clamping it to the pipe between the Y-pipe and muffler. So it would be running without a muffler and exiting below the rear passenger door. Figure the hanger around that area could handle the minimal weight.
I unbolted the Y-pipe flange today to see how it loud it would be and holy crap, she's loud. But thinking exiting it on the passenger side rather than right beneath the cab would make it tolerable but awesome (and not fumigate me). Thanks in advance.
