Heavy weight fishing line works well for cutting through the double sided tape on the backside of the molding. Also, 3M makes a cool tool for removing the residue sticky stuff without damaging the paint. It's like a wheel that attaches to a drill and it acts like an eraser. Really helped when removing mine. It turned a full days work into 1.5 hour job.

WD40 can also remove the adhesive residue. You just need to wax again your truck.

Fishing line to "cut" the glue. Peel the things off then use an eraser wheel to remove all the sticky left overs.

I used a plastic scraper to get enough off to get a finger hold, then just used a heat gun and it came right off. After I had the molding off I used a "rubber sticker remover" wheel to get all the glue off, used a bit of Goo Gone to clean it up and then hit it with a rubbing compound to finish it off. Probably longer than it should've been, but it looks great now.
