Single 10 in factory sub location or 2-10's in downfiring enclosure?

I did a search and found a lot of sub enclosure info but unfortunately not exactly what I was looking for.
I am currently running 2 10W1-4-v2 in an old sealed enclosure I built for 10W0's in my truck (a little small for W1's) in my '01 Tahoe. I want to complete my system install with a better enclosure. I want to retain as much of my cargo area as possible but also don't want to buy another sub as I am happy with how the W1's sound. I normally do not have the 3rd row seats installed but do use them on occasion when going on trips with friends so that is a consideration as well. I also have keep a box with my work stuff in the cargo area so the subs would have to share space with that. The subs are being pushed by a HiFonics TXi-1008D (700Wx1 @ 2ohm).
For a visual of existing conditions...

Here are my ideas/options....
1.) Buy another sub and build an enclosure to fit in the factory sub location in the rear driver fender well. This will take care of the cargo space / 3rd row issue but I am unsure of the bass level and quality.
2.) Build a downfiring enclosure for the W1's to sit behind second row that is movable/removable for cargo and 3rd row. This allows me to keep existing hardware and protect the speakers from cargo. As with the single 10, not sure of the sound level/quality of the setup plus I would not be able to install and forget.

Opinions, Comments, Concerns???

I have to keep my box with all my work stuff so an enclosure that spans the width of the interior is not practicle. Plus, I am tring to get away from the subs being exposed to protect them from cargo. However, another option I had though about is building an enclosure that incorporates storage for my work stuff and get rid of the action packer. I am worried about it being too heavy to move if need be.

or you could go custom and build a fiberglass enclosure in the factory sub location.. you can fit 1 12" or 10" or even 2 8" subs there. and it'll all be hidden behind the factory panel.

I think I am starting to lean this way simply for the cleanliness of the install. I will need to upgrade the sub if I go this route. Any ideas how much air space is availiable with a custom fiberglass enclosure in this location so I can start researching possible sub options?

I have a sheet of MDF in the garage so I may go ahead a build a new down firing enclosure to see how I like it while I am looking into the stock location fg enclosure. Would it be better to have the subs firing into the carpet or build a solid bottom enclosed on three sides open to the rear to direct the sound waves rearward? Should the subs be parallel with the floor or at a slight angle to avoid direct reflection/cancelation?

Buy the MTX box that fits in the stock location. Holds 1 10", I believe. I'm always for the cleaner look. Stealth. Can't stand the way a sub box looks in the back of a vehicle. Maybe I am just getting too old for all that.

I have the MTX in the stock location. If you're not going for SPL but some nice clean lows I'd recommend it.
