I have a 2011 Yukon with 20" tires 275/55r20. In the manual it says no chains are to be used on the tires due to low clearance. Does anyone know of some good low clearance cable or chains to use? I was looking at the Super z6 ones but don't know anything about them. if anyone knows some good ones for the size tire i have let me know which ones you have if they work good. Thanks

Maybe since it's an '11, you haven't driven it in the snow yet... But are you SURE you need chains (or something on the tires)? These trucks are very good in the snow. I'd be surprised if you need something on the tires...

Well I only have the 2wd Yukon. Are they good in the snow? I still would need something because some areas i might go require them. This is my first yukon I have owned so I would appreciate any input.

It doesn't hurt to be prepared. Look aftermarket for chains with rubber banding for the side of the tire/wheel. I have a 07 with the same size tires, but won't be getting chains because it's 4wd. I did grow up in Utah and have used chains on a Camaro. I found the problem with chains to be not the size of the wheel (because the tire is bulged enough to keep the chains off the wheel), but expansion that caused the chains to rub against the wheel well and fender edge once I reached 35mph. Another reason GM says to not use chains is for alignment and drivetrain vibrations. In my opinion, go ahead and use them, but watch your speed.

Hey Mark24, did you end up getting those Super Z6 snow cables for your Yukon? If so, how did it go? I have an 07 Tahoe with the same tire size as your rig. I've too noticed that the owners manual specifically prohibits the use of snow chains. As it happens, I'm heading to Mammoth in a few weeks and I'm looking into options. Seems ridiculous that chains can't be used on our trucks. Any info is appreciated!
