What tires are best for snow? About to get new tires for the hoe, was leaning towards terra grapplers, but was wondering of any tire that performed well in snow.

You live in NYC? You dont need snow tires unless you go upstate! If you dont go upstate and primarily drive in the city go with a top rated all season or top rated all terrain tire, you will be more the fine!

+1 on the Blizzaks. Those are the same tires I use on my winter setup. With Blizzak's and 4wd, you will never get stuck. I just drove through 10" of ungroomed/unplowed snow here in KC and didn't have a single issue. I even switched to 2wd just to see what would happen and I still got around just fine.

Honestly, a good quality tire, LSD and a little weight will get you through anything.

I had Terra Grapplers on my HD up in Boston. They performed well on wet and dry pavement and in the snow they were great. I like how they are more of a squared tire than a rounded tire. The contact patch is large and it bites well. I was up before the plows and never had any problems driving down unplowed roads or through the drifts left by the highway plows. Great tires, I'd recommend them.
I wouldn't necessarily call them snow tires though, more of an all terrain tire.
Oh, they weren't loud either, which is a plus.

+1 for all terrain tires, I've been running GoodYear Wranglers for the last 5 years and love them. Its a toss up between snow or all-terrain where I am (Eastern ND) but the GoodYear All Terrain Adventures have been very good to me, I've had my current set since 11/12 and have had no issues with traction and have out roughly 4000 miles on them.

Have Blizzak on my 09 Yukon XL haven't slid one time in this RIDICULOUS winter. Been able to go the speed limit no problem, I've pulled out honestly 30 people this year these tires are worth the money.
