I just wanted to pop in here and say farewell to the forum and all the members who I've received advice from and that have helped me out, I genuinely appreciate the help and even though I may sound bitter towards GM, I am thankful for this forum.

I took advantage of a great discount at a local Acura dealership and picked up a brand new 2014 TSX with Tech package. My monthly payment dropped by $75 and I'll save an estimated $150-$200 a month on gas. Considering that I don't have a family and no longer own a boat to tow around the Tahoe was expendable. As far as snow, i got to work in the past with FWD sedans and I'll do it again.

Unfortunately my time with the Tahoe was short lived and for reasons that boil my blood, but ultimately it was my decision to trade it in and take negative equity to get out of a rusting truck that had even worse problems on the way. You may be asking yourself if I was still covered under Chevy's rust warranty, the answer is yes. But my chevy dealer unceremoniously fired the one service adviser in the whole place that I trusted. My past few experiences dealing with the service department left me with a bad taste in my mouth - from misdiagnosing a broken drivers heated seat circuit, triple the wait time to get the repair done and then giving me a loaner that couldn't move 10 feet without sliding sideways in the snow and sustaining damage that I had to pay to repair out of my own pocket.

Ultimately I can say that I was unimpressed with my time owning the Tahoe and even more unimpressed with the quality of the product. The rust I mentioned started where the rear quarter panels fold underneath to form the arch of the wheel wells - and from there within a few months I had rust forming above the wheel wells as well as paint bubbles forming – I never took on any body damage in the time I owned the Tahoe so the rust was very unexpected, I’d recommend to everybody here to check for the same. Also, I found rust forming on the welded (or compressed metal) seam of the trunk door when open.

Along with the doors that become aquariums if g-do forbid debris blocks the drainage holes, this all told me that Chevy hoped these things would rust sooner than later so we'd get into a newer model, ALA the 2015 but I have thwarted their plan and will never make the mistake of buying another GM product, new or used.
