The arrows only promote the site in your search results.

I think this is only partially true because after I promoted it, it mentioned how many others had done the same. So I think it does tally them up and raise the listing based on the votes.

Exactly. It shows how many times it was promoted, so it keeps count. How many did it say Effeckt?

If you search for, it could help with the drop down on teh search bar when you are typing it in, but not sure if it helps with the postion.

I'm only stating what Google has published about the ranking button. I just didn't want to get false hopes up.

From here:

Your rankings and comments are associated with your Google Account, so they affect only your search result rankings. A listing of your changes is visible on your 'SearchWiki notes' page, which is visible only to you.

It is also not mentioned as one of the things Google uses to rank pages publicly:

Good finds. I just noticed it the other day and thought I'd give it a try.

when you see "..." at the end of the description it means that it's an organic search result. The search engine software it assuming that it has something to do with what you typed in. The more people that click on TYF, the higher up the page we go. You can get into a search engine optimization (SEO) program but it cost $. I would think we should just start searching for TYF instead of going to the favorites when you want to log in.

I honestly don't remember but I guess based on what was posted it doesn't matter as much as I had thought. :(

I think TYF is great on all keywords relating to tahoe/yukons expect for the keywords "tahoe forum" Once we get on top of google with the term, this forum will be getting a ton more traffic/members.
