Huh - I guess I've never posted pictures. Maybe I should do a build thread. Anyway, this is a couple months ago after I repainted the hood and roof in my garage and swapped to an Escalade rack. It looks tons better than before, but it still needs quite a bit

I agree. The 2006 clusters PRND123 indicator being incorporated into the overlay looks cleaner compared to the VFD display on the 03-05. I was wondering what a 2006 overlay would look like on a 03-05. I've never had an 06 to mess with so I don't know how GM engineered the backlights for the PRND123 indicators, but... I'm sure there is a way to modify a 03-05 cluster to make it work. With color changing LEDs to match the rest of the lighting... I think I just added another project to my list. For later

That looks pretty nice. Giving me ideas... The 05 Z71 Tahoe I recently bought for $500 came w.o. the roof rack (idk why). So I was gonna get another Z71 rack from a parts yard, but...

Thanks man! I think it depends on the direction you're going with your build. If you're gonna lift it or shoot for an offroad look, the Z71 rack looks great and I'd say it works way better with the roller in the rear. If you're shooting for a look that's gonna stay on the street, I would lean toward the esky rack or even shave the rack

When I got the chance to grab an 06 cluster I took it, and I did it for exactly this reason. I hate the lcd prndl display, the clean LED indicators are much nicer.

Those leds are integrated into the pcb, so changing them out for a different color is not simple, like changing out gauge bulbs.

It might not be easy, but that sure does look awesome
