Newbie on the site - sorry if this is posted twice.
I have a 2006 Z71 Tahoe that recently started making a weird noise. Pulling away from a stop there is a grinding/pumping sound, and slight vibration, coming from somewhere on the left-front of the truck. It sounds like a lot like a sump pump cycling. It cycles 5-6 times then goes away. It only happens at low speed with light throttle input while the truck is in 2-wheel drive. It does not make the noise when in Auto-4 or four wheel drive. I've replaced the 4x4 selector in the dash and the 4x4 encoder motor, thinking the noise might be the system trying to go to four wheel drive. Didn't stop the noise. I've had it in the shop twice, mecahincs haven't been able to figure it out. No codes coming up. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
