Anyone have any advice or tricks for getting these things to stay in place? Is there other options besides these? They are a major pain in the C605627D-E8D4-4EB9-9B9F-16578878D5AE.jpeg

The grills should have metal tangs that go through the slots in the door panel, and bend (fold) over on the back side of the panel to hold. Your grills missing those metal tangs?

Pull the door panel quick and just fold them good from behind.

^^^ This. No adhesive needed if most or all of the tabs are there. The door panels are easy enough to remove. Many Youtube videos on how to do that.
