Hi All
My 2001 yukon XL Denali had this issue where while accelerating the transmission would shift into neutral and the engine would rev up. Every time this happened the speedometer would fluctuate, bouncing between 20 and 50. It would only happen every week or so.
More recently, the speedometer stopped working all together, and when this happened the vehicle wouldn't shift at all.
I replaced the rear speed sensor on the transfer case. Now the speed works fine, and the transmission shifts again.
Just wanted to post the fix in case someone else had this problem.
