Spider Injection Leaking?

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of replacing the LIM gasket, and got to the point where the upper intake is off. When I got it off I noticed that there is a lot of soot near the front inlets, but the rear looks fairly clean. Is this indicative of a leaking/bad spider injection system? Or is this fairly normal?

just typical build up from the pcv system. would highly recommend you junk that old spider for the new design and make sure you use the felpro kit with new manifold bolts. http://www.amazon.com/Fel-Pro-MS98000T-Manifold-Gasket-Set/dp/B000CH0C0Y/

I went ahead and ordered the new spider. Should be here Monday. And I have the felpro kit with new bolts going in too. As well as new tstat, upper and lower hoses, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, rad cap and fuel filter

That crap is from the EGR system. Normal.

You can see the egr pipe poking through
