I have a 07 Yukon and recently while going over bumps you can hear it squeaking. Was wondering what I should look at first? Ballpark joints, aarm bushings etc? There are no loud clunking or banging noises.
So I crawled underneath today to grease te front end and I only found 2 fittings which were for the tie rods.... I looked and it seemed like everything was sealed up such as the ball joints and all the bushings....doing so undid find that my steering boot has a rip in it so I'll need to replace that as well
I've got 91k on my 07. No real squeaking for me but if your tie rod grease didn't fix it (and I'd be surprised if it did), I'd suspect your ball joints if the boots are torn. Might have some rust in there.
When I turn it's really bad so my ripped steering boot is the issue with that. Bringing to local shop Monday to get the front end lubed up. Hopefully it works
With the warmer weather(60s-70s) it has gotten less noticeable but is still there when turning and going slow(like through parking lots) there are only 2 grease fittings for the tie rods. Everything else is sealed up. There is not play in the wheels themselves or in any of the steering. It does have a 2/3 inch lift so I'm thinking that's part of it as well. So for now I will just have to live with it until parts need replacing
