Hi,

I have a 2013 SSV and looking to get ride height and feel of the PPV (opposite of everybody else as I have seen by scrolling in the forum).
I have already figured out the part numbers for the rear springs and shocks and plan on switching my tire from 265/70R17 to 265/60R17. My question is: does the PPV and SSV have the same length front struts and coil springs? I know they are different because the part number is not the same. But I come to wonder if the only difference is the color (SSV has red front struts due to Rancho struts option). So do I have to order a new set of shocks and struts to have the exact same ride height as the PPV?

Thank you all for your time

Victor

Hi Victor, You do not mention this but you do understand that PPV and SSV are different in the fact the PPV is 2WD and SSV is 4WD? Ride height and suspension should have different part numbers and specs. BTW, welcome to the forum - you should be able to find a lot of info and helpful members here.

Yes I'm aware of the difference between the two, I want a PPV looking 4WD Tahoe. So part of that includes lowering the ride height. So I'm looking for someone who knows the difference between the front struts and springs in the front (SSV vs PPV). Thanks for your response.

We have the Belltech 2/3 drop kit on our 2010, and are pleased with it. The rear springs are a bit soft, so we added a 1/2" spacer to keep the truck off the rear bump stops.

From looking at the Belltech web site, they show the same kit for the RWD/AWD models. Best to call them, though, and see what they say.

OP, the PPV's front strut is a custom setup that uses an Avalanche spring with a heavy duty strut - you sadly can't buy this as an 'all in one' from the dealer. Here are the part numbers as I had to refresh mine a few months ago:

PPV trucks have 6DA, 7DA VIN codes for Avalanche springs (front and rear).

Rear spring - https://www.tubmangmpartsdepot.ca/p/48061439/15200994.html

When doing my research I found this particular thread very helpful, however some of the part numbers were superseded with new ones - https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/07-14-tahoe-ppv-suspension.71067/

Btw with your truck being SSV, there's additional weight from differential and axles in the front so just keep that in mind as there could be some differences in handling and overall drivability.

Good luck!
