Hi Guys,
I have had a few different issues over the last few weeks with my 07 Tahoe and I"m thinking now they are all related...

1. A few times I have tried to get gas the truck was a total pain and would only accept gas very slowly if at all. Not everytime, but probably 1 out of every 4 times.

2. I have been getting a "Tighten Gas Cap" message on my display every few days even though it's been checked and is tight.

3. Recently (this week), the truck has been giving me issues starting. It cranks fine but will either not turn over or will crank 5-10 times before starting. Sometimes I have to turn the key a couple times... It's not a battery or starter issue as it cranks fine, so I am thinking I have a fuel issue somewhere along the line that is causing all of these issues...

Any ideas of what to look at first?
Thanks,
Evan

Vent solenoid. Its a pretty common issue. Really easy fix, about $40 in parts and 20 minutes under the rear of the truck. Google it, there's a video on YouTube showing how to do it.

That's what I figured the fix was for issue 1 and 2, but do you think that number 3 (the starting issue) is related as well?

Thanks,
Evan

It's possible. These trucks are so dependent on computerized systems compared to the older generations that when one system goes out, it can cause a cascading set of system problems/failures in other areas. Anything fuel or emissions related can cause all kinds of weird crap.

Are you getting any DTC's besides the gas cap warning? If not, I'd replace the vent solenoid and clear the codes out, then see if the problem persists.
