I'm swapping out the steering box on a 2001 Tahoe I picked up on Craigslist.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what 'Production Codes' are being referenced by RockAuto and other sites when discussing which steering box to get:
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,2001,tahoe,5.3l+v8,1371620,steering,steering+gear,7416
There seem to be three options:
* LS
* UT or YK
* AX
I am familiar with the concept of RPO codes, and took a picture of the Service Parts Identification sticker in my glove box... but all of those are three character codes.
The closest code I have matching the options above is 'AXP', which seems to just map to 'VIN IDENT POSITION, MULTI-PURPOSE VEHICLE' -- doesn't seem too relevant to the steering box, but I don't know.
Can anyone shed some light on mapping these two-character power steering box codes to the three-character codes?
Any help would be appreciated.
