Ok, service records show me that my steering components were swapped out soon before it was traded in. Even with a steering stabilizer the steering, while it helped, still sucks.

Why does it act like granny steering? Is it the box? Geometry?

Anyone do anything custom? Retro in another system? My 94 with the original parts steers better than my Tahoe.

Ideas? I'm looking for a solution to truly improve the steering in my Tahoe...

There is probably play in the steering gear still if the pitman and idler arms have been replaced. The box can be adjusted to fix that. Even only a little play in the box can translate to a very poorly driving vehicle, especially with big wheels. You may also want to make sure your alignment is spot on as well, just because it's green doesn't mean it's right.
