Steering Vibration When Over Bumps

99 tahoe steering wheel shakes like crazy when going over bumps. It feels like there's a large gap in the connections(pump) somewhere that lets the wheels wiggle back and forth. It rides really smooth down the highway, but i was on a back road and there were bumps wheres truckers hit their brakes and unless i hulk grab my steering wheel, it shakes like nothing else. What would need replacing?

hard to say. you really have too get down on it and shake things up to see what is up.
