Yes. Any GM wheel should be a direct fit, and any aftermarket will work with a GM kit. I installed an aftermarket wheel in my Suburban.

Yes I'm looking to swap my steering wheel in my 01 tahoe. I like the 03-06 wheels but don't want the steering wheel controls in it and want leather. Supposedly the one out of a hd that's leather with no controls is no longer available

The 03-06 wheels will not fit on the 02 and older trucks. The spline on the steering column is different.

Does anyone know first hand I've read both ways it fits and it doesn't. I know the airbag is different I have one out of a hd truck it's a single plug just like the 99-02 models. I'm just looking for a new steering wheel with new leather.

Ima kind of confused does the 03 and up steering wheel fit on a 01 steering column? Is there something I need to buy or something to make it fit even if it's the one with no steering controls I'll still prefer it for my truck inside of the ugly looking deep dish it has

You'd have to get the top half of the steering column from a 03-06 truck, but use all your stock wiring and stuff. IMO, too much time and effort for a moderate return. I had also though about maybe cutting the center part of the wheel out of a 00-02 wheel and welding it to a 03-06 wheel, so it has the right spline count.
