I have a 2015 Tahoe ppv, I just added an android style Apple car play radio. It works great at replacing the tiny inadequate factory radio. But I really want steering wheel controls. I ordered a used wheel but I’ve heard I might need a clock spring. My radio has a T-Harness that ties in under the column for the steering wheel controls. So I don’t need the clock spring wired to the dash.

Anybody have experience with this?

Where did you get the screen, did it come with the bezel? Can you change the vehicle settings through this screen?

Amazon
Qualcomm 8-Core Android 13 Car... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FF4VK2KV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It comes with everything to do the swap. Canbus controller, steering wheel t/harnes. Bezel etc.

As far as controlling the vehicle through the screen.
I’m have all my tones running though it as they should. Blinker, seatbelt etc. but as of right now the climate adjustments don’t show. Upon initiation they did. So I know it’s there, I’m working with the manufacture now to make the adjustment. I believe it’s in the canbus settings.
The climate control works as normal, and it has its own temp displays and indication lights. So it’s not a huge deal to me, but I’m working on getting it all functioning properly anyway.

With my 2014 PPV the steering wheel swap was plug and play. No clockspring needed. There were changes in the 2015 model year so I can't verify your truck is the same. Definitely worth doing if you can make it work.

I just ordered the clock spring and I’ll replace it anyway. I don’t want to get I got the job and find out I need it.

eBay. I’m guessing it’s aftermarket, I did a search with compatible model numbers. So when I install the wheel if mine has a compatible model number I’ll leave it. But for $30 I’d rather have it on hand than pull the airbag and wheel multiple times.
