So I finally got my new radiator a Spectra and I'm happy no leaks!:rockit: but now it still runs hot about 220+ The needle goes to about 3 little lines above the 210 mark but back down to 210-215. Never gets under 210.

I am ordering a new ac delco water pump and replacing the coolant temp sensor and sender. I got a new radiator cap and Stant superstat thermostat too and it doesn't change anything.

How do i know if air is in the system?

Also another thing I NEED to do is change the ignition lock cylinder it's getting worse where I can't turn the key on. Takes a couple mins of fumbling with the key to get it to turn.

I'm ordering an Acdelco replacement for $20 but it says it needs programming at the dealer? Anyone have a right up on how to do this and does it need programming?

It's a 1997 chevy tahoe 5.7

thanks

Can you explain how to do that? And if I didn't do it right the first time I ran it how can I burp it now?

thanks

Forgive me about being lazy to type but I haven't had much sleep today , as for your Ignition key , I may be wrong but I think you do intact have to get it programmed at a dealership (NOT SURE) hopefully someone chimes in and backs me up or calls me out on it .

thanks I hear you on the sleep part lol

It's weird I have burning hot heat to the point my damn shoe feels like it's going to melt if I dont move my foot. I don't think i have air in the system if I have the hot of heat.

I will see what happens after i replace the water pump and temp sensor and sender. Gotta drain all this coolant out in a week anyway to install this stuff.
