so I bought a MSD Ignition 5592 street fire distributor I figure why not since old one has a broken tab where the screw goes for the cap so my question is will my truck have any problems running with this distributor?

unknown at this time.
Mine failed after nine months but was a screw up during the manufacturing and lack of literature on the issue. second one is corrected this time. otherwise absolutely no issues with bad gears or bushing or firing issues.

I'm running the MSD distributor as well... Only thing to be aware of (when replacing any distributor) is to make sure you not only line up the pointer with TDC of the #1 cylinder, but it helps to check/set the Camshaft advance/retard (+/-2*). Otherwise, you'll potentially get the "run like crap" situation.
