I have a stock flip down overhead DVD player. I installed an aftermarket deck. Question is how do I get sound from the DVD player? Do I need wireless headphones to run it. Didn't try it out when I had the stock HU in. Is there a way to get it to play thru the speakers in the cab or do I need wireless headphones for others to enjoy? Thanks in advance

You need the proper radio adapter that supports RSE. Which one did you use?The wireless headphone would be another option if you don't want to bring it through the headunit.

Plus your new HU has to have an audio input too.

Oh ok got ya. Thanks. No I didn't get the proper adapter. I ended up getting a used one from a friend that he had. I think its a Walmart adapter. Scoche or something like that. Ok is there a certain brand of wireless headphones that would work better? Just want my daughter to watch her movies on it. So a pair of headphones will work just right and I can listen to music up front.

That cancels that one out lol. I just have audio out for subwoofer no input unless its AUX or USB. Thanks for the info. I will just have to get a pair of wireless headphones. Does the player support wireless? Sorry this is all new to me.

To get the factory DVD to work w/ wireless headphones and w/o the factory head unit or proper adapter, you will need to pickoff the audio feed from the DVD to head unit harness and rewire it into an external wireless radio transmitter input. Here is the pinout on the DVD harness;

Pin 5 D-Gn/Wh Right Audio Signal
Pin 6 Bn/Wh Left Audio Signal
Pin 7 BK Ground

I happen to have a Videologic RF wireless headunit package for sale with 1 set of headphones, if interested.
