Does anyone know the stock tint % on the 2022 Tahoe?

I can only go down to 35% in my state (NC) but that is "as measured by by a meter". (My wife is an optometrist and she won't give me a "medical exemption".... she said something about ethics... and i stopped listening)

What tint % can I use to get as close to 35% as possible without going over?

With out metering your exact window all I can say is that it can vary. I’ve seen AS2 glass (straight auto glass) with anywhere from 5-12% tint in the glass itself. It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Most state tint laws require a 2-5 % leeway for equipment calibration.

My old Tahoe had 50% on the front windows and it hardly looked tinted at all. My new to me 2011 is tinted darker, but I haven’t had a chance to throw a meter on it.

I put 30% on my Denali and it is DARK is certain lighting conditions, almost to the point that it looks like it matches the rear 20% factory tint. I would say you could add 40% up front and be in the acceptable window of 35% for your state, but may be worth having the fronts metered first. Any good tint shop will have a meter to verify factory tint.

IIRC was told when I got the front windows to match the rear it was around 15%-18% so I had them match it. It isn't too dark IMO, the windows are big enough and the material on the inside doesn't have strange reflective properties.
My wife's Jeep has 15% all around and the interior on her car has really bad reflection spots and is really difficult to see out of at night.

I did 15% on one of my trucks and had to roll the window down to see the median when I was making left hand turns, I hated it LOL.
