So probably about amonth ago, we replaced the ball joints and cv shafts in my truck, 1996 4wd tahoe 141000 miles
After doing this, there was a clunk from before still going on (which ended up being a snapped mount for the torsion bar in the rear of the bar)
replaced that and that fixed the clunk, but my wheels were still driving funny after replacing all that
two days ago i was fixing the valance on my bumper and gripped my wheel to see if maybe the tie rod was bad, i noticed the entire cv shaft was moving, popped the cap off and noticed only 2 threads were showing on the spindle nut
The passanger side had 4 or 5 threads showing, so me and my dad tightened the nut up and my steering magically got tighter. but now as i drive, i hear a clunking, or knocking vaguely reminiscent of the torsion bar mount that was replaced previously, only this time it clunks as im driving down the road
Could that month or so of a loose spindle nut have f'ed up the hub assembly and thats the clunk i hear?
also to add to this, we replaced rotor and pads, and the caliper doesnt sit right on the rotor anymore, and the toner ring on the cv shaft is/was grinding on the top of the lower ball joint
any insight will be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
