Hi all, I have a strange noise under the dashboard on the passenger side on my 96 Yukon. It makes the noise whenever the key is powered on, doesn't matter if the engine is running or not. It sounds like a little motor is turning and occasionally it clicks like a relay is clicking. It does not appear to have any effect on the HVAC or blower as this still works without flaw and the noise doesn't change when the blower is on or off. Any ideas? I'd rather not pay someone to troubleshoot this until I have a little better idea. Thanks!

$20 says it is the recirc door motor.
If you look where the pasenger feet are, to the left of the blower motor housing, you will see a grill. You can stick your fingers in it and feel the door move.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check it out in the light tomorrow. Is there anything to do to fix it? For that matter, what does it do?
Thanks again.

unknown at this time.
of it is the recirc motor and it clicks it is broken. you replace it with a new one. when in recirc mode it recirculates the interior air instead of bringing fresh air from outside.

Thanks Guys...just wanted to close out this thread. It definitely was the recirc motor. I unplugged it underneath and the noise stops. Just can't switch from fresh to recirculated air. I think I can swap this myself...any advice on where to get this part (maybe online)? I doubt that the local Napa will have it.
Thanks again.

Make sure you count how many pins yours has on the plug....sometimes they will give you one that looks right but has the wrong number of pins.
